Goodbye Summer — Hello Fall!
Today is September 22nd — HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL!!!
The temperature here in St. Louis is still nice and warm, and the leaves have not yet begun to change yet, but the crisp air and beautiful colors of Autumn will be here soon! Very shortly, it will be time to bring out your sweaters, cozy blankets, scented candles and spiced apple cider! For me, this season means I’m extra busy in my art studio painting the many custom house portraits that have been ordered for gifts this 2016 Christmas season, and I’m enjoying every minute! I’ll still plan on taking outdoor walks to appreciate the lovely beauty of Fall all around, and I hope you will too!

Pen and Ink Artwork for Doctor’s Gift
Completed on September 16th, this 8″x 10″ pen and ink illustration depicts the building with the professional offices of the doctors at the St. Charles Eye Center in St. Charles, Missouri. This portrait will be given soon to one of the doctors who practice there, Dr. Joseph Clever, as a birthday gift from his wife, Anna. I enjoyed portraying this contemporary commercial building with angled design elements, and hope that the rendering will remind Dr. Clever of the many people, young and old, who he has helped with his vision and eye care expertise! For more information on the ophthalmological and optical services offered by he and his associates, visit http://www.stcharleseyecenter.com/

Pen and Ink Portrait of Brick Home
Just completed on September 8th, this Pen and Ink illustration depicts a sprawling brick ranch home in St. Louis, Missouri. The artwork was commissioned by a husband to be a gift for his wife in honor of her birthday, and he requested it include two special decorative items — a life size statue of two children playing leap frog, and a small angel statue — very sweet! I hope she will be surprised and delighted with the portrayal of their beautiful home!

Smiles for Portrait of Home!
Yesterday, August 18th, I had the pleasure of meeting my client Amanda and her two little children when I presented the watercolor painting of their home — it was wonderful to see their smiles when they unwrapped and then saw it! The children were happy to find themselves and George, their dog, depicted in the portrait — done at Amanda’s request and makes the artwork an even more meaningful anniversary gift for her husband. Congratulations and best wishes to them for many more years of joy and laughter at this residence!
