Very Special House Portrait for Christmas
Just finished on December 21st and on it’s way to the recipient in Madison Alabama, this 9″ x 14″ watercolor painting portrays a family’s longtime home in Saint Louis, Missouri, and has particularly special meaning. Ann, the elderly mother recently passed away, and the artwork was commissioned as a Christmas gift for her adult son, Steven… the home meant so much to his mom and has been a source of pride for her and the family since it was built many years ago. I sincerely hope the watercolor painting will bring many sweet and cherished memories of Ann for Steven and his whole family as they gather together for Christmas and remember her and the wonderful times they shared in this home!
Artwork of Childhood Home in Saint Louis
On December 18th, final touches were put on this 10″ x 16″ watercolor portrait of an attractive brick ranch house in Saint Louis, Missouri. This was the childhood home of Anna, my client, and the artwork includes items she remembers being there when she and her family lived at this residence… the colorful tulips her mom planted, the white hydrangea bush in the back yard, the pine tree and lamp post in the front where she used to play. It’s very gratifying to provide the artwork that brings back so many fond childhood memories and I hope Anna smiles whenever she sees her house portrait!
Watercolor Painting of Webster Groves Home
Completed on December 12th, this 9″ x 12″ watercolor home portrait depicts a charming frame residence in Webster Groves, Missouri. I enjoyed portraying the lively shadows cast from the large tree on the left, and the azaleas, impatiens, pink dogwood and Japanese maple tree all add beautiful color to the portrait and the inclusion of the wicker grouping on the porch is a nice personal touch. This custom house portrait will be a Christmas gift from a wife to her husband, and I hope he will be surprised and pleased with the portrayal.
Watercolor Painting of Picturesque Home
Just added finishing touches on December 6th… this 10″ x 15″ watercolor painting portrays a lovely frame home in Overland Park, Kansas. This house portrait was commissioned to be a Christmas gift for the homeowner from a very thoughtful beau and I hope it will become a cherished addition to this beautiful residence. I love the drama created by the shadows from the trees — it makes the property come alive!
