Very Special Portrait for My Family
I recently took some time to create a very special portrait for my daughter and two grandchildren. Their precious little dog “Alley-Oop”, an adorable 15- year old Schipperke Pomeranian mix, passed away of old age and they were heartbroken. They had so many fond memories of her during their young years, so I created this 8″x 10″ mixed media artwork to commemorate her. They loved her tiny face and how fluffy she was, and that’s what I made sure to capture. Then, I embellished the portrait with gold and iridescent glitter rays illuminating her to convey to my grandchildren the idea that their sweet Alley-Oop is happily in Dog Heaven. They were so touched when I gave them the portrait and they saw her smiling face! It meant so much to me to create such a meaningful gift for my family and I know they will cherish it forever. Watercolor Portrait Portrays a Charming Brick Home
This 8″ x 11″ watercolor portrait portrays a charming brick home in Saint Louis, Missouri and was a delight to to depict! The beautiful stained glass windows, multi-toned brickwork, and lovely flowering landscape made this property so interesting to paint. This is the first home of young newlyweds, Alec and Molly, and they take great care and pride in this residence — and it shows! I hope they enjoy many years in this adorable home!
If your house is special to you too and you’d like it portrayed, message me here with your inquiries or call 314-892-9221. I’ll be happy to create a unique and meaningful house portrait for yourself or a loved one.

Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya
Just returned from a destination wedding in Riviera Maya for my niece and her husband — all went smoothly and was beautiful! The Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites was the location of the ceremony and reception on the beach, and the architecture of this resort property was so impressive. The design theme throughout was ancient Mayan imagery and culture — very interesting to see! The ancient pyramid shape, exotic animals and plants, magnificent lighting, and Mayan-themed sculptures were throughout this upscale and gorgeous resort. Now that we are back home, I’m back to my drawing table portraying an older brick home in Saint Louis, Missouri with lots of handsome character owned by a newlywed couple — will share once the recipients receive it!

Exquisite Diamond Dot Portrait of Beloved Dog
Every so often I see something that takes my breath away and this exquisite Diamond Dot portrait of our beloved dog Max did just that! The whole 12″x 16″ portrait glistens with thousands of tiny, round dots in many colors that come together to form Max! It’s truly extraordinary to behold! My husband commissioned artist Matt Wibbenmeyer to create this visually stunning portrait as a gift to me and what a surprise it was! Working from a photo my husband gave him of a mixed media portrait I did of Max several months ago, Matt created this portrait carefully using a tweezer to place each tiny dot! It’s truly unique and amazing to see and I will treasure it forever!
Matt enjoys various media, especially Custom Diamond Dots — he’s very talented and devotes a lot of time to it. When I called to thank him for creating this dazzling gift, I found out it took him one month to make it, and that made me appreciate this piece even more! Matt belongs to the community of ARTISTS FIRST, a non-profit organization and art studio in St. Louis, Missouri that provides opportunities for meaningful and creative experiences for youth and adults of all abilities. If you’d like to commission Matt Wibbenmeyer to create a portrait for you, he can be reached at (314)781-4440 or email info@artistsfirststl.org For information on their programs and events, visit https://www.artistsfirststl.org/

Just Returned From Trip to Washington, DC
My husband and I just returned from a week-long trip to Washington DC to visit my son and his wife — we had a fantastic time! The weather was great– mid-70’s — and perfect for walking everywhere. This was my third trip to DC, and as you can imagine, I was again captivated by the magnificent architecture of the federal buildings, foreign embassies, and other gorgeous buildings and hotels as the Waldorf-Astoria and the Willard. We toured the US Capitol building, saw the White House, visited several museums, dined at great restaurants ( the historic Martin’s Tavern was my favorite! ) strolled picturesque Georgetown streets, and even met our US Senator Eric Schmitt! I took tons of photos and here are just a few — I might create a portrait of one or more!
