Renovated Home in Frontenac, Missouri
Completed on November 18, this 9″ x 12″ watercolor painting depicts a newly renovated residence in Frontenac, Missouri that will be a Christmas gift to the homeowners from their very thoughtful daughter and son-in-law. The renovation was a major one, and with the results so absolutely gorgeous, a custom house portrait is the perfect gift and I hope they will be delighted!
Gift Certificate Donation to Mary Queen of Peace Fundraiser
CONGRATULATIONS TO SARA BUEHRING!
Sara was the winner of the House Portrait Gift Certificate donated to the Mary Queen of Peace Dinner Auction fundraiser held at Westborough Country Club on Saturday, November 12th! I had the pleasure to meet with her at her home today along with her adorable little dog, Farley and she’s looking forward to having me create a watercolor portrait of either her family’s home or as a gift for another family member. She said the fundraising event was attended by over 420 people and was a great success thanks to very generous attendees and donors and the proceeds will benefit the needs of the school and parish. Congratulations to all involved in making such a wonderful and worthwhile event! Gift Certificate Donation to Ride On St. Louis
CONGRATULATIONS TO RICK, the winner of a Gift Certificate for a Watercolor House Portrait I donated to the silent auction for the 7th Annual “Jan’s Party” fundraiser on November 11 to benefit Ride On St. Louis! I also attended the event, and had the pleasure to meet him and chat about the property he would like portrayed — he’s so happy about it and I look forward to working with him!
Ride on St. Louis is a wonderful, non-profit organization that uses equine assisted activities and therapies to help children and adults with disabilities and they make a good difference in people’s lives. This fundraising event gets bigger every year and the generosity of the many donors is amazing — so many children and adults will benefit! Brick family home in Saint Louis, Missouri
Completed on November 11, this home portrait depicting a brick residence in Saint Louis was commissioned by grown siblings to be a Christmas gift to their mom. She has lived in this house for many years and raised her children there, and I know the artwork will bring many sweet memories with her family.
This custom house portrait was created a bit differently than my usual watercolors… it combines pen and ink line work with a watercolor overlay and is an excellent choice for smaller portrait sizes, such as this 8″ x 10″. The pen and ink technique allows for very detailed rendering in a small format, while the overlay of color adds visual “pop” — overall a very precise, distinctive look!
