A Creative House Just For Fun
You know how small kids love playing with empty boxes? I had a few at the house, and extra space in the basement, so in-between house portrait orders I’ve been working on another “house” — a multi-room playhouse made of large cardboard boxes for my little grandson! The main room of his Little Man Cave has a Book Nook illuminated by white rope lights where he can relax with his favorite books and other touches are an address plaque, door knocker, shutters, trellis, awnings, and an American flag. As you can see, he was delighted with his custom house!

House Portrait of Tapawingo Property for Closing Gift
The newest house portrait was created using pen and ink with watercolor and depicts a spacious residence in the prestigious Tapawingo subdivision in St. Louis, Missouri. Surrounded by mature trees and hillside in a prime cul-de-sac, the home was designed to look like a combination of a Colorado lodge and a spa resort and it’s breathtaking! The 9″x 14″ artwork was commissioned by realtor Karol Plawsky of Red Key Realty Leaders as a closing gift, and I enjoyed depicting the requested aerial view — a perfect way to portray this magnificent property.

Watercolor Portrait of Oregon Home for Gift
Wish I could show you the recently completed watercolor painting depicting a family’s beloved home in Oregon, but need to wait and for good reason… it will be a surprise gift to a mother from her adult children as a sweet reminder of their many decades living there, so I’ll post it after she receives it. This custom house portrait should bring a big smile — it includes her flowers and trees of the front yard in lovely Springtime bloom, and I hope she will be delighted and touched by the portrayal and her family’s thoughtfulness!

Watercolor of Somers, New York Home for Closing Gift
The first house portrait of 2020 is an 11″ x 17″ watercolor of a spacious, custom built, shingle and stone Colonial style residence in Somers, New York with interesting architectural features. The artwork was commissioned by Hope Mazzola, a real estate agent with William Raveis in Katonah, NY as a gift to the homeowners who sold this beautiful property, and portrays the manicured landscape with a hint of the golf green in the distance on the right — something the recipients will be happy to see! I hope this home portrait brings many fond memories of their years living here!
