Portrait of The Magic House Children’s Museum for Gift to Board Member
This unique and magical museum for children was a true joy to portray! This 10″ x 18″ pen and ink with watercolor portrait depicts one of the most beloved cultural attraction venues in St. Louis, Missouri — The Magic House Children’s Museum. The artwork was commissioned by the organization’s president, Beth Fitzgerald, and given as a gift to a retiring board member at a dinner party in her honor on August 15. The artwork will be a sweet reminder of the many years of dedicated service bringing wonderful and memorable hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity, imagination, creativity, and laughter for children in an extraordinary place of wonder, joy and magic!
Since the opening in 1979, The Magic House has undergone a series of additions and renovations that expanded the museum space from 5,500 square feet to over 55,000 square feet among four levels. The Magic House has gained national recognition as one of the top children’s museums and attracts more than 560,000 visitors each year. This 9″ x 12″ watercolor house portrait depicts a residence in Darien, Illinois that the recipient, her husband, and family lived in for many years. The artwork will be a closing gift from a thoughtful friend of the family and her husband, the listing agent, and I hope it brings many special memories of the years the family lived here. The rose bushes painted in full bloom will be a fond memory! Best Wishes in the next residence!
Watercolor Portrait of Little Rock, Arkansas Home
The newest house portrait is an 8″ x 13″ watercolor of a rustic home nestled under trees on a wooded lot in Little Rock, Arkansas — and it was so interesting to portray! This custom house portrait was commissioned by a mom as a birthday gift to her daughter-in-law and it shows her pink azaleas in beautiful full bloom. If you would like to give a house portrait gift to someone special, contact me to reserve a spot on my schedule — I’m now taking orders for January 2022.

Consider giving a watercolor house portrait, as my client, Lane, did for her good friend and her groom. This 8″ x 11″ painting portrays their recently purchased home in Webster Groves, Missouri with landscaping as they plan it to look like. I hope they feel pride in this home every time they view the artwork! If you would like to do the same for your own residence, or as a gift for someone else, contact me to have your questions answered and reserve a spot on my portrait schedule — I’m now taking orders for November.
Happy Recipients Of A Watercolor House Portrait Gift
I wish it were possible to be present when recipients of my custom house portraits see theirs for the first time. So very special thanks go to my clients Al and Nancy Meyers for sharing this photo of their dear friends, Mike and Anna, receiving their 9″ x 13″ watercolor painting of their home in Sunset Hills, Missouri earlier this week. Al and Nancy knew how much Mike, Anna, and their family loved their home of 32 years and thought a house portrait would be appreciated for the fond memories it will bring — from their joyful smiles in the photo, they were right!
