July 14th ~ House portrait of property in historic Soulard neighborhood begun
Follow me

Today I began a very special watercolor custom house portrait… a 3-story brick property built in 1870 located in the historic Soulard neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri. This building belonged to my 81 year old uncle, and had been in the family for 59 years, and was just recently sold. Originally purchased by his mother in 1955, he and his own family lived there in the early 1960’s, then he rented it to a few families over the following years. The watercolor portrait will be a wonderful and very meaningful surprise for him, and one I know he will sincerely appreciate because he is sentimental. I will be working on the artwork this week, and will post when complete. I am looking forward to seeing the look on his face when he sees the portrait for the first time…. I better have a handkerchief ready.
