Watercolor house portrait for winners of donated Gift Certificate

CONGRATULATIONS to MR. and MRS. WILLIAM KIENE, the winners of the Gift Certificate I donated to a fundraiser for Our Lady of Sorrows School last October, and now the proud owners of a watercolor portrait of their St. Louis home! I completed their portrait yesterday, February 29th, and I got the chance to meet them both this morning when they picked up their portrait — it was great to see their smiles when they saw the artwork!  They were delighted to see that I portrayed the home with sunlight, because their home faces north and is normally in deep shadow all day… adding the sunshine is more flattering and really makes the property come alive! They are looking forward to getting it framed and hanging it in their home…. they’ve been at this residence for 39 years and I’m sure the custom house portrait will be a special keepsake for them and I was happy to provide it — I love the character of their home!
