Artwork of Childhood Home in Saint Louis
On December 18th, final touches were put on this 10″ x 16″ watercolor portrait of an attractive brick ranch house in Saint Louis, Missouri. This was the childhood home of Anna, my client, and the artwork includes items she remembers being there when she and her family lived at this residence… the colorful tulips her mom planted, the white hydrangea bush in the back yard, the pine tree and lamp post in the front where she used to play. It’s very gratifying to provide the artwork that brings back so many fond childhood memories and I hope Anna smiles whenever she sees her house portrait!

Just finished on July 29th, this 9″ x 12″ watercolor painting depicts a home in the Franz Park neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The residence was the first and former home of a young couple who moved one year ago, and the very thoughtful husband commissioned the artwork as a surprise gift for his wife. The window flower boxes, two adirondack chairs on the porch, and planter by the door are charming touches of the home, and I hope the house portrait brings his wife many great memories of the years at this address.

It’s wonderful to see my custom house portraits once they are matted and framed, and special thanks go to Matt Mayer for sending me a photo of the watercolor artwork of his father’s childhood home in St. Louis, Missouri I recently portrayed. The warm colors of the double mats and frame complement the brick color of the house so well — very nice job! I hope the home portrait brings great memories of his dad, especially this Father’s Day.

Just completed on May 3 … a 10″ x 15″ watercolor portrait of an attractive frame and brick home in St. Louis, Missouri that was commissioned by a thoughtful husband to be a 20th anniversary gift for his wife. The couple built this family home together a few years ago, and the artwork will be a meaningful commemoration of their accomplishment. The home portrait includes their nicely designed landscape as well as some decorative pieces — an antique water pump, wagon wheel, and a small garden flag of their favorite sports team, the St. Louis Cardinals. I hope the wife’s face will light up when she sees her custom house portrait! Happy Anniversary to Brenda and Tim and best wishes for many more!
Completed on April 13th, this 11″ x 14″ watercolor portrait of a brick home in St. Louis Missouri is certain to be very special for the recipient. The young man asked me to portray his father’s childhood home, and when he told me his father has already passed away, I knew this would be a sentimental and meaningful piece of artwork for him. How sweet that he wanted this home portrayed, and I hope it will become a treasured keepsake for his family. I included a hint of the homes on both sides to maintain the feeling of the city street the home is located.
The artwork is the result of a redemption of a house portrait gift certificate I had donated to Ride-On-St. Louis, a local charity.
