Christmas Themed House Portrait
It may be early Spring now, but this Christmas-themed house portrait was a joy to create! This 11″ x 13″ watercolor painting depicts a newer residence in “The Hill” neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri and the recipients are my cousin and her husband. They wished to have their home portrayed in their favorite time of the year — Christmas! They graciously host immediate and extended family members there every Christmas Eve and the portrait was created to honor those times we spend together. The artwork includes their inviting, beautiful home decked in holiday decor, and pair of male and female cardinal birds watching while perched in a small tree in the front yard — a very sweet touch! I know this custom house portrait will bring many fond memories to so many! If you have a home that is special to you or a special family member and would like it portrayed, contact me to reserve a spot on my schedule — I’m now taking orders for June.

Share ThisPhotograph of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church
FINALLY! Here in Saint Louis, we’ve had lots of rain and cloudy skies lately, but the sun came out yesterday and I was finally able to take the photos I needed to do a portrait of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church. This is the view of the church I will be using for the 11″ x 14″ pen and ink artwork commissioned by the Carondelet Historical Society to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the church’s founding. As you can see, the building has abundant character and will be very interesting to portray — I’m looking forward to beginning it! ( without the street signs, rear smokestack, chain link fence, and the heavy shadow cast from adjacent building.)
If you have a special building and would like me to portray it and perhaps provide limited edition prints, call 314-892-9221 and I will be happy to discuss and create it for you.

Completed on November 17, this 8″ x 10″ pen and ink illustration depicts an attractive brick and stone home located in a great neighborhood in Saint Louis, Missouri — and very close to where I grew up! This home belongs to a young family who loves their home and enjoys spending time on the front porch — their baby swing and adult swing are included in the artwork and is a sweet, personal touch! This custom house portrait was commissioned by the wife’s mother for a Christmas gift to the family, and will bring great memories when the time comes for them to move on to a larger home in the near future.

Share ThisVery Special House Portrait for Christmas
Just finished on December 21st and on it’s way to the recipient in Madison Alabama, this 9″ x 14″ watercolor painting portrays a family’s longtime home in Saint Louis, Missouri, and has particularly special meaning. Ann, the elderly mother recently passed away, and the artwork was commissioned as a Christmas gift for her adult son, Steven… the home meant so much to his mom and has been a source of pride for her and the family since it was built many years ago. I sincerely hope the watercolor painting will bring many sweet and cherished memories of Ann for Steven and his whole family as they gather together for Christmas and remember her and the wonderful times they shared in this home!
