House Portrait Schedule Update
As usually happens every year at this time, my house portrait schedule fills fast with Christmas holiday orders, and this year is no exception. As of September 15th, my calendar is full with orders through the end of the year, and I am currently taking orders for January 2016. If you had your heart set on giving a house portrait to a loved one, don’t dismay — Gift Certificates are available and can be redeemed at the recipient’s convenience any time in 2016! Gift certificates are an excellent option if you think the recipient would like to work with me directly and give input for the portrayal of their property. This is especially a good idea if the recipient is very particular and will help insure their artwork turns out perfectly for them. Gift certificates can be ordered for both Watercolor and Pen and Ink portraits in various sizes and prices to suit your needs and budget, and make a wonderful gift for a family member, friend, co-worker, or employer. September 4th ~ OA Gallery Art Event
I had the opportunity to visit the OA Gallery in Kirkwood, Missouri for the Opening Reception of the Saint Louis Watercolor Society’s “Big Splash 2015 ” exhibit and had a very enjoyable evening! Had the pleasure of meeting several other creative professionals, among them David Coblitz, a talented local photographer, and Philly Alex Johnmeyer, another local artist. And it was pure joy to see and catch up with my good friend Lisa Ober, a phenomenally gifted portrait artist. She and I are standing in front of one of her amazing works on permanent display at the gallery. It caught my eye because distant uncles on my mother’s side of the family began the Goelitz Confectionary Company many, many years ago and it became the Jelly Belly Candy Company, creators of those yummy jelly beans. At one point years ago, my grandfather was asked to join the family business, but alas, he declined — but at least I know where my sweet tooth comes from!

Portrait keepsake of family’s former home
Just finished on September 4th… a 9″ x 12″ watercolor portrait of a contemporary brick and frame home in Maryland Heights, Missouri. The family recently moved after living there nine years, and the house portrait gift certificate they received from a thoughtful friend gave them the perfect opportunity to create this special keepsake of their former residence. Best wishes to this young family in their new home and neighborhood!

Watercolor of handsome home
Just completed on August 24th… a 14″ x 22″ watercolor of a handsome stone and shingle sided residence in Ladue, Missouri surrounded by mature trees. This portrait was commissioned by a young woman to be a gift to the parents of her future husband and I hope they will be pleased with the portrayal!

Watercolor portrait of family home in Macon, Missouri
Here’s the newest, just completed on August 12th…. an 11″x 14″ watercolor of a brick ranch home in Macon, Missouri. This portrait was commissioned by the owners’ daughter to be a gift for them because they had recently moved, and she knew the artwork would make an excellent keepsake of the home they had lived in for twenty-five years. They raised their children here, and have relocated to be closer to their first grandchild… such an exciting time for them! I hope they will be delighted with their custom house portrait and enjoy the memories it brings!
