Watercolor Portrait Anniversary Gift
Just completed on May 3 … a 10″ x 15″ watercolor portrait of an attractive frame and brick home in St. Louis, Missouri that was commissioned by a thoughtful husband to be a 20th anniversary gift for his wife. The couple built this family home together a few years ago, and the artwork will be a meaningful commemoration of their accomplishment. The home portrait includes their nicely designed landscape as well as some decorative pieces — an antique water pump, wagon wheel, and a small garden flag of their favorite sports team, the St. Louis Cardinals. I hope the wife’s face will light up when she sees her custom house portrait! Happy Anniversary to Brenda and Tim and best wishes for many more!

Pen and Ink Illustration
Newly completed on April 21st, …. an 8″ x 10″ Pen and Ink illustration of a traditional Colonial style home in Richmond Heights, Missouri that is rich in distinctive details. The artwork was commissioned by a realtor as a closing gift for her clients, and I hope they will be proud to display their home portrait in their new residence!

A Father’s Childhood Home
Completed on April 13th, this 11″ x 14″ watercolor portrait of a brick home in St. Louis Missouri is certain to be very special for the recipient. The young man asked me to portray his father’s childhood home, and when he told me his father has already passed away, I knew this would be a sentimental and meaningful piece of artwork for him. How sweet that he wanted this home portrayed, and I hope it will become a treasured keepsake for his family. I included a hint of the homes on both sides to maintain the feeling of the city street the home is located.
The artwork is the result of a redemption of a house portrait gift certificate I had donated to Ride-On-St. Louis, a local charity.

Client’s newly framed portrait
I LOVE when clients show me how nicely they framed the custom house portraits I created for them! It’s great to see the artwork in the mat and frame selected and know they are proud to display it on a special wall in their home! Sincere thanks to Pam Kramer for snapping this photo of her newly framed watercolor of her childhood home — it looks wonderful! The beige color of the mat allows the white areas of the portrait to “pop”, and draw the viewer’s eye into the artwork, the blue inner liner echoes the blue tones of the window reflections and clouds, and the cherrywood frame compliments the reddish-orange bricks — it all makes for a lovely finished portrait to display on her wall!
