Christ, Prince of Peace Catholic Church
Today, October 17th, I am beginning a portrait of a very special house — a house of worship — Christ, Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Manchester, Missouri. I recently visited there on a sunny day and photographed the church and landscape, and this is the selected photo showing the view that will be depicted. The property will be portrayed in a 10″ x 15″ watercolor painting, then the image will be reproduced for Limited Edition Prints and made available for sale to parishioners at their next major fundraiser. It will make a wonderful keepsake, especially for those who celebrated the Sacrament of Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, Marriage or other special event. I am honored to depict the church and happy to help them reach their fundraising goals — I hope it will be a wonderful success!

Pen and Ink Art of Rock Hill, Missouri Home
Just completed on October 11, this 8″x 10″ pen and ink illustration portrays a handsome brick home in Rock Hill, Missouri. The artwork was commissioned to be a Christmas gift from a father and mother to their son and his family and I hope they will be pleased with the distinctive character the black line work provides. This house and front landscape are rich in detail, and it was a pleasure to depict this home portrait!

Watercolor Painting of Springfield, Pennsylvania Home
This is such a pretty one!
Completed on October 4th, this 9″ x 12″ watercolor painting portrays a lovely 2 -story, white painted brick home and landscape in Springfield, Pennsylvania. A thoughtful bride-to-be commissioned it for her parents to express her sincere thanks for their help with her upcoming wedding, and the artwork includes their beautiful flowering bushes and plants in their front garden — azaleas, hydrangeas, tiger lilies and mums — all in full bloom. I hope they will be surprised and pleased with their custom house portrait and think of their daughter with love every time they see it.

Visit to Columbia, Missouri
I took a break from painting on Saturday Oct 1st to drive to Columbia, Missouri with my husband Chuck to visit our youngest son Chaz, a senior at Mizzou. We visited Harpo’s, a popular 3-story sports bar/restaurant in a historic brick building in the heart of downtown Columbia. Chaz took this nice photo of Chuck and I as we were admiring the handsome interior — perhaps I’ll do a pen and ink or watercolor portrait of this building one day. In the meantime, on Sunday, I took photos of a sorority house on campus that I’ll be portraying in a watercolor portrait early in 2017…. it was good to see and photograph the flowers and plants while still in bloom before the first frost of the season!
