Portrait of Loveless Barn for Wedding Gift
This watercolor portrait will be a very special wedding gift for a young couple!
Completed on July 17th, this 10″ x 17″ watercolor painting depicts a bride and groom, Jonathan and Erin, at the venue where they held their wedding ceremony and reception, the Loveless Barn in Nashville, Tennessee. They chose it for it’s unique rustic chic ambiance, and Jonathan’s parents, Vicki and George Collar, thought a watercolor painting of it would make a perfect wedding gift and requested he and his bride be included in the composition, along with the 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air they used as their getaway car. They are shown in their wedding attire, kissing in a sweet embrace, and it’s soooo touching! This watercolor portrait is sure to be a beautiful reminder of a very happy day in their lives and I hope they smile every time they see it!
I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Jonathan’s parents two years ago when they commissioned a portrait of the Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University as a graduation gift for Jonathan, and it was an honor now to provide this meaningful wedding gift for he and his new bride! Very best wishes to the newlyweds and both the families!

Delighted Recipient of House Portrait
On July 12th, I had the pleasure to meet Bonnie Higgins when she picked up the watercolor house portrait I recently created for her and her husband Patrick. They were the highest bidders and winners of a custom house portrait gift certificate I donated to a silent auction fundraiser for the Mid-America Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. They had me portray their 2-story family home in Ballwin, Missouri, and it was great to see the smile it brought to her face!

Today, I am remembering the 56 brave Signers of the Declaration of Independence who risked everything to publicly announce to the world the decision to declare the American colonies free and independent states apart from Great Britain. Their actions set our new nation on a path to become an exceptional country and a powerful beacon to all who seek liberty and self-government. God bless America!

Watercolor Painting of Couple’s First Home
Completed on June 29th, this 8″ x 10″ watercolor painting portrays a charming and picturesque home in Alamo Heights, Texas, near San Antonio. The residence belonged to a young couple that lived there for three years, and recently relocated to Houston for a great job opportunity, and the artwork was commissioned by the thoughtful husband as a wedding anniversary gift for his wife — very sweet! Their custom house portrait includes their favorite flowers and plants in the landscape along with many other details, and I hope it brings them both many wonderful memories of their very first home!
Watercolor Painting of Mediterranean Style Home
On June 19th , the finishing touches were put on this 9″ x 12″ watercolor painting of a beautiful Mediterranean style residence in Webster Groves, Missouri. The abundant Old World architectural character and charm of this property, along with the play of sunlight and shadows, made it so interesting to portray! The homeowners requested their beloved dog be included sitting on the lawn in the artwork, and I was happy to oblige the sweet personal touch! I hope they will enjoy their custom house portrait for many years to come in this extraordinary home!
