Perfect Mother’s Day Gift Idea!
Mother’s Day is just one month away!
Looking for the perfect gift for the woman who helped create cherished memories in your childhood home? Would you like it to be so unique and meaningful it would truly touch her heart? Consider an original hand-painted watercolor house portrait that will remind her of the countless ways she made your house a “home”. Mothers truly are the heart and soul of their families and homes as they tend to the never-ending details of their children’s lives. Give her the gift of a work of art as special as she is and she will lovingly think of you and your siblings every time she sees it. Here are a few of my many house portraits commissioned by adult children to give to their moms. If you would like to honor your mom with a home portrait this Mother’s Day, call me today at 314-892-9221 before my schedule is full. If my schedule is already filled when you call, consider giving the portrait for another special occasion — I’ll be honored to create it for her!

Pen and Ink Portrait of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
Completed on April 9th, this is the finished 11″ x 14″ pen and ink illustration of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church located in St. Louis, Missouri. I so enjoyed portraying the character of this place of worship with stone exterior and Gothic leaded glass windows. To create the most aesthetically pleasing portrait, tree branches gracefully draping from the upper areas were added to visually frame the church, and street signs, smokestack, chain link fence, and heavy shadow cast from adjacent building were omitted. The portrait was commissioned to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the church’s founding, and will be displayed in the museum at the Carondelet Historical Society along with other portraits of historic properties from the area. If you have a place of worship you would like to have portrayed, I would be honored to create it for you — call 314-892-9221 to discuss and order.

Photograph of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church
FINALLY! Here in Saint Louis, we’ve had lots of rain and cloudy skies lately, but the sun came out yesterday and I was finally able to take the photos I needed to do a portrait of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church. This is the view of the church I will be using for the 11″ x 14″ pen and ink artwork commissioned by the Carondelet Historical Society to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the church’s founding. As you can see, the building has abundant character and will be very interesting to portray — I’m looking forward to beginning it! ( without the street signs, rear smokestack, chain link fence, and the heavy shadow cast from adjacent building.)
If you have a special building and would like me to portray it and perhaps provide limited edition prints, call 314-892-9221 and I will be happy to discuss and create it for you.

Lovely Springtime House Portrait
This is one of my favorite house portraits.
I created this watercolor several years ago for a family in Saint Louis, Missouri, and it portrays their home in Springtime with their landscape in full bloom. They have since moved, and I hope the original artwork brings many warm and happy memories. If you would like to do the same for your family, I would be happy to provide a custom house portrait you would be proud to display. Portraits are normally complete within one week.
