This newly completed watercolor painting depicts the charming and rustic 18th century stone building affectionately known as the “Old Barn” at Holly Hedge Estate located in New Hope, Pennsylvania. This 8″ x 10″ portrait will be a wedding gift to a young couple, commissioned by the groom’s parents to commemorate their joyous day. After taking some time off after the passing of my father, I’m back at my drawing table and excited to begin the next portrait. I’ll be portraying a rustic and charming 18th century stone building at Holly Hedge Estate, located in New Hope, Pennsylvania situated on 20 acres of lovely floral gardens, waterscapes, stone terraces, and a popular venue for weddings. The watercolor painting was commissioned to be a gift for a bride and groom who will be married there in April and is sure to be a beautiful keepsake of one of the most important days of their lives. Charming House Portrait with Client’s Two Cats
After I posted the four watercolor portraits that included family pets, another favorite I had done several years ago came to mind…. this watercolor painting of a gray frame home in Illinois! If you look closely, you’ll see two cats sitting in windows that the client asked be included. Their addition was a sweet touch that enhanced the charm of the older home, and I was happy to depict them!
