Portrait of Home in Mountains of North Carolina
Completed on October 11, this 12″ x 20″ pen and ink with watercolor portrait depicts a spacious vacation home in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, and was a joy to portray in beautiful autumn season colors. Small, but nice personal touches were the two comfy wicker chairs on the porch, and the client’s beloved dog sitting on the lawn. Truly a spectacular place to be any time of the year!
Watercolor Portrait of Parent’s Backyard for Christmas Gift
Completed on October 1st, this watercolor painting portrays the backyard of a home in St. Louis, Missouri that belongs to my client’s parents. She had commissioned me to do a house portrait of their previous residence a few years ago, and now wished to have a portrait of their current home for their upcoming Christmas gift. She requested the backyard with pool be depicted because it’s the favorite gathering place for the family — I’m sure you can see why! The portrait includes their patio furniture, watermelon design pool float, and two metal palm tree sculptures that look really great next to the beautiful pool. Best wishes to them in their new home!
Frame Selection for Wedding Gift Portrait
A hunter green mat and ivory frame with soft gold trim was selected for the watercolor portrait of St. Ambrose Church given to the bride and groom for a wedding gift — it was a beautiful look and should look great when displayed in the newlyweds home. Best wishes to Elizabeth and Anthony!
Unique Artwork Wedding Gift for Bride and Groom
This newly completed 11″ x 15″ watercolor portrait was given on September 21st to Elizabeth and Anthony Galullo after their marriage at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri. The bride and groom were surprised and delighted to see themselves depicted in the artwork dressed in their wedding attire — such a unique and touching gift from the bride’s parents, Gaspare and Laura DiMaggio! I hope this one-of-a kind portrait brings many joyous memories of their special day every time they view it.
The architecture of the church is exceedingly beautiful inside and out, and located in “The Hill”neighborhood, a community with a proud Italian heritage. Best Wishes to Elizabeth and Anthony for many years of happiness together!

Many times my house portraits get shipped out-of-town to the recipients, so it’s always especially nice when local clients pick up their artwork — it’s great to see their smile and joy when seeing their artwork in person! And so it was when Michelle Avanzado, the client for my newly completed portrait, came by to pick up hers. She loved it, and looked forward to selecting a mat and frame and displaying it on a decorative shelf in her family room. I hope the portrayal of her home surrounded in beautiful autumn colors brings many compliments to her and her husband!
