Exquisite Diamond Dot Portrait of Beloved Dog

Every so often I see something that takes my breath away and this exquisite Diamond Dot portrait of our beloved dog Max did just that! The whole 12″x 16″ portrait glistens with thousands of tiny, round dots in many colors that come together to form Max! It’s truly extraordinary to behold! My husband commissioned artist Matt Wibbenmeyer to create this visually stunning portrait as a gift to me and what a surprise it was! Working from a photo my husband gave him of a mixed media portrait I did of Max several months ago, Matt created this portrait carefully using a tweezer to place each tiny dot! It’s truly unique and amazing to see and I will treasure it forever!
Matt enjoys various media, especially Custom Diamond Dots — he’s very talented and devotes a lot of time to it. When I called to thank him for creating this dazzling gift, I found out it took him one month to make it, and that made me appreciate this piece even more! Matt belongs to the community of ARTISTS FIRST, a non-profit organization and art studio in St. Louis, Missouri that provides opportunities for meaningful and creative experiences for youth and adults of all abilities. My husband and I just returned from a week-long trip to Washington DC to visit my son and his wife — we had a fantastic time! The weather was great– mid-70’s — and perfect for walking everywhere. This was my third trip to DC, and as you can imagine, I was again captivated by the magnificent architecture of the federal buildings, foreign embassies, and other gorgeous buildings and hotels as the Waldorf-Astoria and the Willard. We toured the US Capitol building, saw the White House, visited several museums, dined at great restaurants ( the historic Martin’s Tavern was my favorite! ) strolled picturesque Georgetown streets, and even met our US Senator Eric Schmitt! I took tons of photos and here are just a few — I might create a portrait of one or more!
Portrait of Extraordinary Home in Pebble Beach, CA
This watercolor portrait portrays an extraordinary hacienda style home in Pebble Beach, California and was so interesting to portray! The sprawling home faces a golf course, Stillwater Bay, and the Pacific Ocean, which can be seen reflected in the large windows along the front of the home. The front yard is a garden paradise filled with lush flowering plants — so lovely! Included is a statue of a young golfer taking a swing — a nice touch given the recipient’s love of golf. The 11″x 20″ custom house portrait is a thoughtful gift from my client Bob to his good friend Tom, and I hope he will be happy with the portrayal!
Portrait of Home in Italy for Gift to a Son and His Wife
This watercolor portrait of a home in Northern Italy was a gift to a son and his wife who just moved there! His mom wanted to surprise them with the artwork before they left their home in St. Louis and she said they loved it! The 8″ x 10″ artwork depicts their three bedroom stucco home surrounded by lush trees and flowers on their property — very picturesque! She plans to visit whenever she can — I would too!
