Wedding at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church
Our youngest son Chaz and his sweet Katie were married on October 19 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Saint Louis, Missouri and all went beautifully! The ceremony itself was touching, and the evening reception in the Crystal Ballroom at the Marriott Saint Louis Grand Hotel was beyond gorgeous! It was a memorable time celebrating with family and friends who also love the bride and groom. The illustration I recently created of our dog Max was reproduced to make a sign on the bar for the guests — very clever — and got lots of laughs! My husband, I, and our whole family are so happy for the newlyweds and look forward to seeing the wonderful life they create together!

Share ThisPet Portrait Depicting Our Beloved Dog
Here’s something different than a custom house portrait — a pet portrait depicting our family’s beloved dog, Max. The artwork was requested by our 30 year-old son Chaz, and portrays Max in the white bow tie he’ll be wearing on Chaz and Katie’s upcoming wedding day! He’ll be a handsome addition to their wedding photos, don’t you think? Chaz and my husband found Max when a puppy alone in the woods eight years ago. They brought him home and he’s been a beloved member of our family ever since. Even having only one eye, he’s still the happiest, friendliest, and best behaved dog we’ve ever had or known — and the portrait captured his personality! He’s truly one of a kind.
I’ve included small depictions of dogs and cats in many house portraits for clients before, but this is the first actual “pet portrait” I’ve ever done and I thoroughly enjoyed it! So, if you have a special pet and would like it portrayed, let me know and I’ll fit it in my schedule!
This 8″ x 10″ portrait of Max was rendered in watercolor, colored pencil, and black India Ink.

Though they moved almost two decades ago, it will always be special to them. Many enjoyable times were spent relaxing on the front porch!
