Just completed on October 4th… an oversized 16″x 24″ Watercolor portrait of a family’s lake cottage in Wisconsin. This custom portrait captures several items that make this family retreat so special and loved … the large shaded deck with comfy patio furniture, a relaxing hammock tied between two trees, a sandy beach, and a white wooden swing that the grandkids handpainted and decorated themselves that’s absolutely adorable! I hope the portrait will remind the whole family of the many wonderful, fun weekends and holidays spent there together!
Custom house portrait of stone residence in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Just completed on September 14th… an oversized 16″x20″ Watercolor house portrait of a large architecturally interesting, older stone residence in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This custom portrait was commissioned by the adult children to be given to their parents this Christmas. The portrait portrays the rich character of the property in the hand hewn stones and white moulding trimwork design of the pediment and fascia, surrounded by a lovely landscape including a white dogwood and birch trees. My hope is that this original house portrait will provide treasured memories for the family who lived there.

Just completed on August 28th… a Watercolor portrait of a quaint and appealing Tudor style home in Saint Louis, Misouri. This original custom house portrait was commissioned to be given as a gift for homeowners celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. The portrait depicts the rich, multi-toned brickwork, stone trim, arched door and stained glass windows so characteristic of the area. The flowers in the curved garden area are shown in full bloom and add to the beauty of the home. Congratulations and best wishes to the homeowners for many more years of happiness at this address!

August 19 ~ Vacation over, work resumes creating Custom House Portraits!
It was wonderful to have the past two weeks off to spend with family before they head to college! Today I will resume work by starting a watercolor house portrait of a brick Tudor style home — please visit again in a few days to see the finished portrait!

Custom portrait of Family’s first home in Corvallis, Oregon
Just completed on July 28th…. a Watercolor house portrait depicting a family’s first home in Corvallis, Oregon in the late 1950’s. This custom portrait was commissioned by the adult children to be given as a keepsake to their parents as a reminder of the many happy events and memories at this address. This original portrait includes the mother’s favorite orange rose bush on a trellis as well as a blue hydrangea bush and yellow primrose flowers. More importantly, also included in the portrait are the daughter and son when they were very young — their portrayal at the front steps adds a very sweet and meaningful touch sure to surprise and delight their parents when they see it.
