Beautiful Balboa Park in San Diego

    Just returned on June 22 from a week in San Diego, California — what a beautiful place to visit! I saw several places of interest, including Balboa Park, a 1,200 acre cultural park just a few minutes from downtown San Diego that features 17 museums, several theaters, beautiful gardens, and the renowned San Diego Zoo. For me, the best part was the magnificent, ornate Spanish-Renaissance architecture throughout the grounds (of course!) — any of the buildings would make a gorgeous watercolor painting!
