Visit to Historic Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Recently returned from a trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas and I loved the older Victorian style architecture throughout the town! The many charming cottages, stately manors, and storefront boutiques built between 1880 and 1920 are nestled among the steep and winding streets of the Ozark landscape and are rich in Victorian-era character. The city itself was founded in 1879 around natural springs that were thought to have healing properties since the Civil War two decades earlier. It very quickly became a destination resort town for visitors seeking the therapeutic benefits of the springs and today the historic commercial downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places. If you make a trip there, be sure to visit the rooftop restaurant atop the Crescent Hotel, the gorgeous Basin Spa Hotel, the small but beautiful Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church, and many charming boutiques — all very memorable! I took plenty of photos of the abundant interesting, older stone architecture — so much inspiration for a watercolor custom house portrait in the future!

This House Portrait Will Be a Very Touching Gift!
This watercolor house portrait will be a very touching gift! The 8″ x 12″ artwork depicts a home in St. Louis, Missouri that belonged to the same family for over 57 years. It is now finally time to sell, and Realtor Karol Plawsky of Red Key Realty Leaders knew a house portrait would be a perfect gift for her sellers. The artwork depicts the lovely flowers and plants of the front garden area as it used to appear when the wife was able to tend it — I understand she had quite a green thumb! I hope this custom house portrait brings smiles and warm memories to this family!

Every so often I receive a request to portray a beloved pet , and I’m happy to provide it!
Such was the case depicting this 8″ x 10″ mixed media portrait of Louis, a three year old Golden Doodle. The artwork was commissioned by my friend Paula as a gift to her daughter, who is Louis’ owner and loves him dearly. From what I understand, he is a very happy and energetic dog — he may be little, but he has a BIG personality! Best wishes for many more joyful years with loveable Louis!
